Bluegrass Group

PoP Bluegrass is a popular group that is an exciting addition to the thriving music culture at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church!  The addition of the Bluegrass Service is an enhancement to our diverse worship offerings. The Bluegrass band leads worship at both services at least once a month. You can find out their schedule by checking the church calendar on the website. Come and check it out- your toes will tap!

Pop Bluegrass features “home grown” musicians as well as instrumentalists from the Fox Valley. Ward Patton plays the upright bass-he’s our anchor! He also sings bass. Erik Larson plays the mandolin and sings tenor. Sarah Koenigs and Randall Bullock share the role of fiddler. Colleen Perrine plays guitar and  Karen Bultman strums the autoharp. Rounding out the group is Charlie Sosinski from  Fond Du Lac. Charlie plays the banjo.

Our singers are: Beth McQuistion, Karen Bultman, Chris Pynnonnen, Michelle Wiesman, Stacie Dobbe and Colleen Perrine.
Bluegrass Services include liturgies written specifically for Lutheran worship by renowned writers Kent Gustavson and Steve Thompson. Incorporated into worship are “down home southern gospel” hymns. Additionally, Colleen has composed her own CP Bluegrass Liturgy; adding a personal touch to the service!

Anyone is welcome to join the group. We are always looking to add singers and guitar players to our happy band. It’s fun and doesn’t require a large chunk of your time!
