Social Concerns Ministry
The Social Concerns Ministry focuses on helping members grow in their faith by reaching out in love and justice. We strive to develop and foster an active witness that reaches out in love to those troubled or in need. We seek to be a sign of justice and mercy in God’s world and to link members to ELCA and community ministries.
The Social Concerns Ministry will reveal Christ’s compassion by
• Revealing Christ’s visible presence in the community and the world
through our member’s participation.
• Partnering with local Christian and service organizations.
• Providing community project leader and volunteer opportunities for all
Prince of Peace members.
through our member’s participation.

The Social Concerns Ministry operates within the guidelines of the ELCA and adheres to its policies and recommendations. We align ourselves with Synod advocacy partner (e.g. Bread For The World, Habitat For Humanity).
In addition to the above, the Social Concerns Ministry aims to facilitate service activity participation by congregational members and to be “outwardly” focused. We strive to be deeply involved in a few activities/organizations. The Social Concerns Ministry team seeks to actively involve congregational members individually, in small groups, and in congregation-wide projects.
