Reopening Our Church

Prince of Peace has Reopened!

We are thrilled to have opened our doors on Sunday, May 23rd for our FIRST in-person worship service since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic almost a year and a half ago! Check out some photos from that very special morning.

Per the release of new COVID-19 guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) on May 13th entitled “Interim Public Health Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People,” Prince of Peace has reopened for full-capacity, in-person worship with communion! Services will continue to be available to view live online via livestream

We ask that you carefully read and follow the latest COVID-19 CDC recommended guidelines for choosing safer activities when considering attending in-person worship on Sunday mornings this summer.

There was sure to be a mixture of emotions we experienced as the day approached. We hope to be able to calm any remaining nerves with the PoP Reopening FAQs document, which was drafted by PoP member, Dean Gruner, MD, a physician with experience in infectious disease prevention.

As we continue to move toward fully reopening and resuming our regular activities, we need volunteers to help in several areas of ministry and service:

  • Teams to prepare and serve coffee after services.

  • Subs to work in the AV room so our regular AV volunteers can take their planned vacations.

  • Communion setup and cleanup volunteers when we are ready to serve communion with individual wafers and pouring chalices with individual glasses for the wine (in the near future).

If you would like to volunteer for any of these areas, please fill out the signup sheets in the narthex or contact the following leaders of the various areas of ministry:

We can’t wait to worship with you again throughout the summer!
