Midweek Lenten Suppers

March 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29  |  5 - 6 pm  |  Fellowship Hall

The Prince of Peace Women of the ELCA (WELCA) will be offering suppers prior to the midweek Wednesday evening Lenten worship services on March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 beginning at 5 pm in the Fellowship Hall. If you feel so moved to contribute any food to the suppers, or to volunteer to help with set-up or clean-up, there are sign-up sheets on the WELCA bulletin board in the Narthex. A freewill offering will be collected.

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday evenings at 5 pm for food and fellowship during the Season of Lent!

"I Was Just Wondering..."

Midweek Wednesday Evening Worship   March 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29  |  6:15 pm

Have you ever had questions about Jesus and the Bible, but never had a chance to ask? During our Midweek Lenten Services this year, let’s look at some of these questions ... and get some insight into some answers.

Using brief videos and a variety of resources, such as the Bible, ELCA Social Statements, Biblical scholars and personal study, the pastors will look at most, if not all of the following questions:

March 1 (Watch Service)

  • Is there more to life than meets the eye?
  • Aren’t all religions basically the same?
March 8 (Watch Service)
  • Do the Gospels get King Herod right?
  • Is Religion a cause for violence?
  • Can we really believe in peace on Earth?

March 15 (Watch Service)

  • Will the world end in Armageddon?
  • Where does Hell come from?
  • How to live with the unpredictable time of our death?
March 22 (Watch Service)
  • Where does humility come from?
  • Did Jesus condemn wealth?
March 29

The last midweek Lenten service will be a special Healing Service. During the sermon time, pastors will invite all who wish to do so, to come forward and receive the laying on of hands and a blessing. We ask that you remain silent and reflective during this time.

To accompany our sermon series, we are using the Lutheran verspers liturgy, Holden Evening Prayer, by Marty Haugen during all 5 worship services.

All services both in-person and online.
