Two Special Prince of Peace
“God’s Work, Our Hands” Workdays at
Riverview Gardens in Appleton

Wednesday, February 23, 2022  •  1:00 – 3:30 pm
Wednesday, April 27, 2022  •  1:00 – 3:30 pm

An invitation from Riverview’s Volunteer Coordinator:

“Join us on the Farm to support our mission to build dignity through job training and employment! Our certified organic, community supported urban farm hosts volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, working together side-by-side. Participants in our ServiceWorks job training program work towards graduation, achieved after 90 hours of volunteer time, on the Farm. In addition, anyone who volunteers 15 hours with us can take advantage of our Earn-A-Bike program and receive a free bike and safety gear! Your work on the Farm enables us to continue hosting a location for our neighbors and community members to work towards transforming their lives and circumstances.

Not only does volunteering at Riverview Gardens support our community through ServiceWorks, but your work on the Farm directly impacts our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. In 2020, Riverview Gardens grew over 15,000 pounds of organic, local produce for local pantries, through a partnership with Feeding America.

None of this work would be possible without you, our dedicated volunteers. Thank you!”

On February 23rd, we expect to be planting seeds in the warm, sunny greenhouse. Sign up for one or both Prince of Peace Spring workdays on the Farm at this link: Prince of Peace 2022 Workdays

NOTE: If you aren’t able to participate in the workday(s), but would like to support this awesome local non-profit, check out the Wish List of Greatest Program Needs. We hope our workday will include presenting a check from the Appleton Conference ELCA congregations. A Thrivent Action Team grant has been secured to purchase supplies for Riverview Gardens.
