If you haven’t had the opportunity to watch it, we posted a PoP Up! video from Jim and Carol Sack, the husband and wife missionary team we’ve been supporting for about a year now in Tokyo, Japan. Jim serves as a professor in both the undergraduate and graduate Clinical Psychology departments at the Japan Lutheran College, as well as a seminary professor at the Japan Lutheran Theological Seminary. Carol is the director of “Lyra Precaria,” a ministry of prayerful presence through harp and voice at the bedside.
Interesting facts:
Jim also serves as a chaplain for foreign prisoners at Fuchu Prison in Tokyo. Carol has a special interest in the Psalms and their relationship to the harp. They have three adult children, a son Jonathan and two daughters, Bethany & Emily. The Sacks have been missionaries since 1982. Home base is Minnesota, but Jim is rostered in the NW Washington Synod.
